Creating Your Life – Building A Powerful Routine
How are you settling between confinement measures and the uncertainty around the next weeks and months? The pandemic certainly brings a period of changes.
We are living unprecedented times of rapid changes. All of us. No discrimination. We have been talking for decades of the changing climate due to pollution. We have tried to implement changes to protect our earth without much success.
In just a few weeks, however, the positive impact on the environment has been almost instantaneous. Change can be rapid.
After some weeks, we have somewhat adapted to a temporary normal. This too, will subside. The new normal that we know will also not last. No one knows how long we have to wait to go back to our old ways, our old reality. But should we? Can we?
Can we go back to our old ways? Isn’t it how life operates? Isn’t it that we can never go back? Life makes us move forward.
Our perceptions are always changing and as such, our reality and the way we react to it.
The difference with the COVID pandemic, is that these changing times are all around UNIVERSAL and the rate of change is FAST.
Un-precedent changing times. Perhaps we can also make them an opportunity for re-invention.
We had to re-think our routines a few times since the pandemic hit our different parts of the world…to recreate a new routine, in a new reality. At first, realities were changing almost daily.
We may want to take this opportunity to recreate our reality, our routine and when the pandemic reality subsides to another, stick to it.
If you want a new routine that makes sense, you might need to explore what works for you now. The key is to re-visit regularly and adapt.
It is essential now to re-visit, during historic times of change.
To develop a habit, the first thing is to commit and “show up”. Commit to 7 minutes a day. Commit to showing up to your routine and build from there.
START with
1. BLOCKing in your daily agenda calendar. 2 x 7 minutes (or 14 then 20 minutes for yourself). The goal is to ultimately secure 20 min when you wake, in the morning and 20 min before going to bed, in the evening.
2. Also BLOCKing dedicated time in your day for 100% dedicated family or friends moments. For game time, coffee, meals, other ideas?
